SUMMARY OF PROGRAMS

The group contributes financially to Children’s Hospital Colorado, from cutting-edge research and treatment, to therapy, to education and advocacy. The 2221 Society finds projects that need significant support and funds them.

HISTORY

The 2221 Society was formed by several like-minded folks that wanted to make changes within the Hospital but do so in a new, transformational way.  The more things change, the more they stay the same; in 1909, the Hospital made its first transformation, moving from care being administered in tents to converting a former residence at 2221 Downing Street into a "well equipped institution with a capacity of 30 beds," admitting its first patients on February 17, 1910.

LEGAL STATUS

The 2221 Society is a d/b/a that is part of Children’s Hospital, it is tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3), but it has autonomy and sole discretion to fund the projects it chooses to support.  Your donations are tax-deductible and gift receipts will be provided by Children’s Hospital Colorado EIN 84-0813462. Checks should be made payable to 2221 Society. With your support, we can help children with a heartbreaking diagnosis and their families navigate treatment, therapy, education and so on
